The Sandtown Winchester police station that was the scene of protests following the death of Freddie Gray is set for renovations. According to the Baltimore Business Journal, the $2.4 million effort to revamp the Western District Police Station is being undertaken by a public-private partnership that includes Scott Plank’s War Horse LLC. Donations to the project came from the Baltimore Ravens, Under Armour, Comcast and others. The renovations are designed to add public space inside and out, as well as improvements to conference rooms. There will also be a new training area, and bathrooms and locker rooms will also be upgraded. Plus, Comcast will provide Wifi. The project is on the agenda to be considered at 5/4/16 Board of Estimates meeting.
